Wide Open Travel takes on the Americas to raise money for conservation organizations.

In the summer of 2020, I will head north and make my way to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska in the Arctic Circle. Once at the most northern point, turn around and head south. All the way south. Along the way stopping at various National Parks, State Parks, National Monuments, Nature Preserves, etc.  Engaging with people about these cherished wild lands. Slowing making my way through 17 countries, driving over 20,000 miles, ending in Tierra del Fuego National Park in Argentina. This expedition is expected to take 8 months.

I want to explore the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Mountain bike Canyonlands in Utah. Kayak the Sea of Cortez. Packraft in Mexico’s Chiapas region. Go diving in the Belize Barrier Reef. Ride through the salt flats in Bolivia and the Atacama desert in Chile. Eventually making it to Patagonia, the holy grail of outdoor recreation. I want learn the history of these beautiful places, talk with fellow outdoor enthusiasts as well as companies to lean what is being done to protect and preserve them. And I want to share all of this with you.
